This aloft hotel is located in the heart of the American Tobacco Historic District is just steps away from the best dining and entertainment that downtown Durham has to offer. We worked with designer Phillip Szostak of Szostak Design and construction manager, Davidson & Jones, to complete the main lobby area and President's Club for this premier hotel.

The designer and architect of this project turned to CKS to execute their intricate and dynamic design for the hotel's main reception desk that incorporates 7 different materials. From custom graphic panels, concrete and quartz countertops, tile, and metal, CKS sourced and produced the entire desk to deliver exactly what the architect and owner envisioned. 

Another one of the unique elements of this space is the maple cloud ceiling. CKS custom built and shop finished the ceiling to perfectly integrate the HVAC and lighting. We also installed the ceiling to provide proper structural support and to ensure the wood paneling seamlessly followed the curved walls.
